Benefits of Landscaping
Landscaping is an essential aspect of property maintenance that involves altering the natural features of a piece of land to enhance its aesthetic and functional value. Often, homeowners may perceive landscaping as a mere tool for improving the visual appeal of a property. However, landscaping offers several other benefits.
One of the main environmental benefits of landscaping is its ability to reduce soil erosion. Erosion is caused by water, wind, and other natural factors that can slowly wash away the topsoil, exposing the bare land. With proper landscaping practices, property owners can control soil erosion by planting native grasses and plants that develop deeper roots and hold the soil in place. Additionally, landscaping can help mitigate stormwater runoff by creating drainage systems that direct water away from the property.
Landscaping also has a positive impact on air and water quality. Well-maintained landscapes help filter the air and absorb pollutants such as smoke particles and carbon dioxide, resulting in better air quality. Landscaping also reduces water pollution by filtering runoff water and promoting groundwater recharge, which, in turn, replenishes the water table.
Homeowners may also enjoy financial benefits of landscaping. For example, tree planting can help reduce the heating and cooling costs of a building as trees provide shade and insulation. Additionally, property values can increase by up to 20% with well-planned landscaping, making it a profitable investment in the long term. Furthermore, commercial properties with well-maintained landscapes have shown to attract more customers, especially those who appreciate green spaces and lush landscapes.
Take Care of Your Trees and Shrubs
Healthy ornamentals are good-looking ornamentals! If your plants are struggling, we’ll diagnose the problem and create a treatment plan. This may include pruning services to stimulate new growth, get rid of branches that are at risk of falling, and remove diseases before they spread.
Our Pruning Options
Not every plant has the same pruning needs, which is why we provide three options based on the size of the limbs that need to be removed. If you’re not sure what branches need to be removed or how large they are, our experts can help you out and give you an estimate before treatment.
Our tree and shrub pruning options include:
- Basic pruning: We’ll remove dead, dying, or diseased branches that are ½” in diameter. We also do selective thinning to lessen wind resistance without affecting the plant’s appearance.
- Mid-grade pruning: If you have dead, weak, or interfering branches that are up to 1” in diameter, mid-grade pruning will remove them.
- Heavy pruning: Trees with large branches that are dead, diseased, or weak require heavy pruning. We can tackle branches that are 2” in diameter or greater.
